The root folder is the LaserFiche folder that appears at the very top of the folder tree structure. This folder cannot be renamed, because it represents your LaserFiche database.
If you would like to rename your network database, then you should perform the following:
- Open the LaserFiche Administration Console. This can be performed by clicking Start, pointing to Programs, LaserFiche, and then selecting LaserFiche Administration Console.
- In the console tree, expand the desired LaserFiche Server item.
- In the console tree, click the LaserFiche database that you would like to rename from the LaserFiche Server.
- If security has been enabled on the selected database, login as any user who has been designated as a supervisor for the specified database.
- From the Action menu, click Detach.
- When prompted, confirm that the LaserFiche database will be detached.
- In the console tree, select the desired LaserFiche Server item.
- From the Action menu, click Attach Database. The Attach Database dialog box will appear.
- Under Database name, type the new name that will be assigned to your database.
- Under Database location, type the path to the root of the LaserFiche database. This path is relative to the LaserFiche Server.
- Under SQL data file location, type the path to the SQL database file. This file is usually named after the LaserFiche database and has an .MDF extension.
- Click OK to attach the specified database to the LaserFiche Server.
