6321: You are not allowed to delete the root folder

Summary

The root folder is the LaserFiche folder that appears at the very top of the folder tree structure. This folder cannot be deleted, because it represents your LaserFiche database.

Workaround (Network Database Deletion)

If you would like to delete your network database, then you should perform the following:

  1. Open the LaserFiche Administration Console. This can be performed by clicking Start, pointing to Programs, LaserFiche, and then selecting LaserFiche Administration Console.
  2. In the console tree, expand the desired LaserFiche Server item.
  3. In the console tree, click the LaserFiche database that you would like to delete from the LaserFiche Server.
  4. If security has been enabled on the selected database, login as any user who has been designated as a supervisor for the specified database.
  5. On the Action menu, click Delete.
  6. When prompted, confirm that the LaserFiche database will be deleted.

Workaround (Standalone Database Deletion)

If you would like to delete your standalone database, then you should perform the following:

  1. Open the LaserFiche Administration Console. This can be performed by clicking Start, pointing to Programs, LaserFiche, and then selecting LaserFiche Administration Console.
  2. In the console tree, expand the (Local) item.
  3. In the console tree, click the LaserFiche database that you would like to delete from the LaserFiche Server.
  4. If security has been enabled on the selected database, login as any user who has been designated as a supervisor for the specified database.
  5. On the Action menu, click Delete.
  6. When prompted, confirm that the LaserFiche database will be deleted.
