Summary

Stable channel releases for chromium-based browsers released around June 18, 2024 may contain a bug that causes the browser to become unstable when loading large dropdown lists. Clients using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge report that the issue may occur when a dropdown list reaches around 1000 items.

Symptoms

After upgrading to Chrome version 126.0.6478.114/115 or Microsoft Edge version 126.0.2592.61, clicking on a dropdown list on a Laserfiche Forms form or a dropdown list in the metadata pane in the Laserfiche web client may cause the browser tab to become unstable and you may see the following browser error message:
