This article documents potential license renewal errors that you may encounter when renewing your Directory Server primary license.
Resource Mismatch
A common error that can occur during primary license renewal is if there has been changes to your licensed resources. You may receive the following error message:
Primary License renewal failed. To renew, please remove the following applications, features, or user license assignments.
You must reallocate the shown resources to match the new limit.

If the license renewal process encounters multiple errors, you must fix all the errors prior to completing the primary license renewal.
Please note that if the relicensing notifications feature is off, you may need to regenerate licenses for registered applications.
When resolving licensing mismatches, be aware that there is currently no single location in the Directory Server administration site that lists all applications holding a specific resource. Similarly, the organizations page does not have a report that lists all organizations that have reserved licenses for a specific resource.
