Summary

Import Agent automatically retrieves files stored in a Windows folder and imports them into a Laserfiche repository. Import Agent 11 is a major release that includes enhancements for Email Archive. For a detailed list of changes, please see Knowledge Base article 1014463.

System Requirements

The following are the system requirements for the computer on which Laserfiche Import Agent will be installed.

  • CPU:
    • Minimum:1.8 Ghz processor; 64-bit Windows operating system
    • Recommended: Quad-core 2.8 Ghz processor or faster; 64-bit Windows operating system
  • Memory:
    • Minimum: 1 GM RAM
    • Recommended: 2GB RAM or more
  • Operating system:
    • Windows 11
    • Windows Server 2019
    • Windows Server 2016
    • Windows 10
    • Windows Server 2012 R2
    • Windows Server 2012

Software Requirements

  • Import Agent supports Laserfiche Server 10.4 or later. Import Agent does not need to be installed on the computer hosting the Laserfiche Server.
  • Email Archive supports Laserfiche Server 10.4 or later.

Language Packs

The Import Agent and Email Archive installations include the Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Spanish, French, and Portuguese (Brazilian) Language Packs.

When you open the Import Agent Configuration Utility, the program checks the value of the Language string value in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Laserfiche\Import Agent\Settings registry key. If there is no value, Import Agent uses the Windows language setting.

Known Issues for Import Agent

  • 32-bit systems are no longer supported.
  • Italian is no longer supported. (476213)
  • If you copy Import Agent profiles to the profile folder after installing Import Agent 11, and do not launch the Import Agent Configuration Utility, an error will be logged in the Event Viewer when the profile tries to run. Launch the Import Agent Configuration Utility to migrate profiles to the latest version. (474556)
  • The Sender email %(EmailSenderAddr) token's value will be " " for emails where the sender is also the owner of the MSG file (i.e., if you sent the email to yourself). (30664)
  • The [Settings]BurnPDFAnnotationsOnLFImage attribute will not be followed when importing via LSTX or XML file. Annotations will always be burned onto the image. (30663)
  • If you use an XML list file to import PDFs and set extract_text=true, and if you configure the Import Agent profile to import XML files as list files and to generate pages for PDFs, an "All pages will be overwritten by extracted text" error will occur on import. This is because the generate pages option takes effect before the extract_text setting. Clear either the generate pages option or extract_text=true. (442957)
  • Password protected PDF files cannot be imported. (442947)
  • Documents are imported successfully even when the user configured in the profile does not have the Import feature right. (442949)
  • If you include the %(GCount) token in the repository folder path that Import Agent will import to (configured on the Properties tab), and the folder already exists in the repository, an error will occur. Delete the folder in the repository, and allow Import Agent to create it. (442955)
  • The text pattern for the Windows Forms elements having "Edit" ControlType, used for accessibility purposes, is not supported. (261069)

  • The monitored folder path displays incorrectly in the General tab if some parts of the path are in Arabic and some parts are in English. (442963)
  • On the Schedule tab, the Add Monitoring Time Period dialog box displays in left-to-right mode. (442960)
  • When specifying a name or path in the Properties tab, the values must be all in English (without tokens) or all in Arabic for the left to right (English) or right to left (Arabic) order to be applied correctly. (442961, 442962)

  • If processed and error folders are configured as subfolders under the monitored email folder, email in those subfolders will be continually moved to the monitored folder and then back to the processed/error folders, when the "Exclude subfolder" option is not selected. (472527)
  • Polling an email folder with backslash character '\' causes the profile to encounter an error on loading. (200438)
  • Polling an email folder with a forward slash character '/' causes an error or, if there are subfolders matching the text that comes after the forward slash, the email in those subfolders will be polled as well. (472904)
  • When using the Arabic Language pack, all values entered into textboxes in Email Archive must be all in English (without tokens) or all in Arabic for the left to right (English) or right to left (Arabic) order to be applied correctly. (442962
