Laserfiche Cloud

Summary

This article documents new features and changes in Laserfiche Cloud 2020.3, released on July 10, 2020.

Process Automation

Workflow

The Invoke Business Process activity in Workflow allows a workflow to both start a business process and pass values to the process. For a workflow to be able to start a business process, the process must have the "Allow this business process to be started by other processes" option selected in the process details. The type of start event in the process does not matter. Ensure the process has been published. In Workflow, the process can be started using the Invoke Business Process activity. Place the activity on the workflow canvas and select the process from the Business Process dropdown. Assign values or tokens to the input values workflow will send to the process.

Laserfiche Bots

Laserfiche Bots now allows you to set bots' runtime priority if your bot remote agent has the ability to add multiple queues. Higher priority bots will be run first, then normal priority bots, and finally low priority bots. Priority can be set from the manage page, the Invoke Bot activity in workflow, and starting events that run bots. Additionally, the monitor page has been updated with an improved search results pane and the ability to sort by column.

Integrations

  • Integration with the Ellucian Banner Integration through Ethos: The integration supports pre-populating registrar forms created in Business Process, and updating records in Banner with course or student personal information through Workflow. To retrieve records in a form, use a lookup rule to access Ellucian. Then, based on a known value, such as student ID, you can pre-fill the rest of the form with the student's data. To update a record, in Workflow, use a Execute Application Action activity to push new information, such as course or student changes, from a Business Process into Ellucian. Integration through Ethos.
  • Custom Scripting: Design custom integrated solutions by incorporating C#, Python, and NodeJS scripts as part of Process Automation workflows. Create a Process Automation Rule to define where the custom script is hosted as well was any necessary input and output parameters. Make sure that there is a Process Automation Remote Agent on the host and that the agent is configured with the remote script source plugin. Add a Run Script Rule activity as part of a Process Automation workflow to run the custom script.
  • SELECT queries on external Data Sources can now use database views, previously these could only use database tables.

Capture

The following issues have been fixed:

  • Zones are now drawn in the correct location for rotated pages in the Test Results preview pane. (217322).
  • When attempting to scan pages into a new document using Web Scanning, a tooltip now lets users know that the option is not yet available. (213415)
  • When moving a zone, the page now automatically scrolls when the cursor is near the edge of the visible area. (146137)
