Laserfiche 10.3

Summary

Laserfiche 10.3.1 includes numerous bug fixes and performance enhancements, as well as a significant update to Laserfiche Federated Search.

New Features

Laserfiche Federated Search

Laserfiche Federated Search, introduced in Laserfiche 10.2, allowed users to search multiple Laserfiche repositories from a single portal. In Laserfiche 10.3.1, administrators can also specify any website as a search provider, and its content can then be searched using Federated Search. Administrators can configure Federated Search to crawl any web site to which they have access; the page titles and text of those web pages can then be returned in user searches. In addition, administrators can specify that they want to crawl only part of the web site, and can associate parts of web pages with specific fields for more targeted searching. For web sites that require a login, Federated Search allows administrators to securely record credentials, allowing the search engine to crawl that locked content.

Federated Search also includes several new enhancements to the search page. In addition to common searches (text, entry name, all fields, and annotation text), Federated Search now allows specific search options for individual templates and fields, date searches, and type or extension searches. Users can save searches that they want to perform frequently, and administrators can share saved searches with the entire organization. You can also specify a set of predefined values for a field, allowing you to quickly repeat common searches.

Laserfiche Web Client

The Laserfiche Web Client now features the ability to copy the URL of a entry, allowing you to easily save or share a direct link to that entry.
