The Laserfiche app is an Android, iOS, and Windows app that lets you capture, upload, and securely access and work with documents and forms in and outside your Laserfiche repository while on the go. This article highlights new features and changes for the Laserfiche App Server, Android app, iOS app, and Windows app.
Laserfiche App Server
- On the Laserfiche App Configuration Page, there is an option to import repositories, authentication settings, and Laserfiche Directory Server settings into the Laserfiche App Configuration Page from the web client.
- On the Laserfiche App Configuration Page, there is an option to generate a URL that can be sent to users that will open and auto populate the repository and Forms server on the app Sign-in page.
- A new Enable PDF Compression option on the Laserfiche App Configuration Page controls if an imaged document or PDF is compressed when downloaded or shared to another application.
Windows App
- Laserfiche App Scanning is a new application for the Windows desktop app that lets users easily scan paper documents into Laserfiche.
Android, iOS, and Windows Apps
- Name Changes
- Offline has been changed to Local.
- Fill Out Form in the Navigation Pane has been changed to Start Process.
- Tasks in the Navigation Pane has been changed to My Tasks.
- Drafts in the Navigation Pane has been changed to My Drafts.
- Forms and tasks can be automatically downloaded to your mobile device.
- Local forms are now accessible in their own section under Local Copies in the Navigation Pane, along with the new local tasks.
- Forms tasks assigned to you can now be automatically saved locally.
- If a form field has been configured as a lookup field, the lookup values for that field will be available when the form or task has been saved locally. Local lookup tables are only supported on Android 5.0 and later.
- If there is a geolocation or address field on your form, you can press Open in map application under either field to open the device's map application to display the geo location or address on the map.
- When sharing a TIFFÂ image as a PDF, you now have the option to compress and preview it before sharing it.
- You can upload Laserfiche briefcases from external applications into Laserfiche using the Laserfiche iOS, Android, and Window app (for phone and tablet). You can upload briefcases stored on your local machine using the Windows app for desktop computers.
- You can download documents and folders as a Laserfiche briefcase using the Laserfiche app.
- You can now use a barcode scanner to scan barcode values into a search box, form field value, or field value.
- Searching performance has been improved to return search results faster.
- Working with metadata in the Laserfiche app is faster and now supports field groups and the ability to populate fields with tokens using a token picker. Three new tokens, unique to the Laserfiche app, have also been added:
- Geo Location: The GPS coordinates of the user's location when adding this token to a field.
- Device Name: The type of device being used to access the Laserfiche app. For example, iPhone 6 will be displayed if you edit the field using an iPhone 6.
- Operating System: The operating system of the device used to access the Laserfiche app. For example, iOS 10.0.2 will be displayed when using an iPhone 6 that has been updated to iOSÂ 10.0.2.
- Sticky notes, stamps, and the freehand annotation can now be added to a document and modified with the Android and iOS Laserfiche app.
- Sticky notes and stamps can be added to a document and modified with the Windows Laserfiche app.
- You can now sign documents securely with digital signatures using the Laserfiche app.
- The new multi-value group fields in Laserfiche 10.2 are also supported in the Laserfiche app.
- There is a new option to remove unused lookup tables if they were downloaded locally with their corresponding tasks or forms.
The following minor changes and fixes were also added to the Laserfiche 10.2 Server and App.
Laserfiche App Server
- The buttons and tabs on the Laserfiche App Server Configuration page now function properly if a firewall that blocks the external web calls is configured. See KB 1013801 for more information. (145559)
- A saved search that contains a template search no longer throws an error. (152591)
iOS App
- The app no longer crashes when attempting to upload an image from a device with no images in its album. (145785)
Windows App
- The Laserfiche app no longer crashes on a Windows 10 phone when opening a folder using the folder picker. (129865)
All Apps
- A saved offline form submission can now be uploaded regardless of the case of the Laserfiche Forms server host name on the Laserfiche App Configuration page. (149119)
