Summary

When signing in to Laserfiche Forms, you may receive the following error message:

    Laserfiche Forms has encountered a problem.

    The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)

Resolution

This error can occur when Forms is configured to retrieve user information from a Laserfiche repository, but is unable to connect to the repository.

Open the Laserfiche Forms Configuration page and review the options set on the User Authentication page.

  1. Open the Forms Configuration page through the Start menu or by typing the URL in your browser address bar. The default URL for the Configuration page is http://machinename/FormsConfig, where machinename is the name of the server where Forms is installed.
  2. Click the User Authentication tab.
  3. Verify that the Laserfiche Server, Repository, User name and Password values are valid.
