In certain troubleshooting scenarios, Laserfiche Technical Support may request a log of HTTP/HTTPS traffic between the Laserfiche App and the Laserfiche Mobile Server. This article documents using a third-party tool (Fiddler) to create log.
If the Laserfiche Mobile Server is hosted on a web server that is accessible from the mobile device over a shared Wi-Fi connection, see the following steps:
- Install Fiddler (for .NET 4) on a workstation that is on the same network as the Laserfiche Mobile Server.
- Run Fiddler.
- From the Tools menu, select Fiddler Options.
- Click the HTTPS tab and select the Decrypt HTTPS traffic option.
- Click the Connections tab and select the Allow remote computers to connect option.
- Note the port number specified in the Fiddler listens on Port option.
- Close Fiddler and reopen Fiddler.
- Note the IP address of this computer that has Fiddler installed.
- From the Tools menu, select Fiddler Options.
- On the mobile device, view the settings for the Wi-Fi network that will be used to connect to Laserfiche Mobile Server and enable proxy settings and for the host. Use the IP address from step 8 and the port from step 6.
- Connect to the repository from the app and confirm that Fiddler on the workstation is now recording the web traffic.
- While Fiddler is logging traffic, recreate the issue at least two times.
- Export the logs. Select all entries created while recreating the issue, right-click point to Save, Selected Sessions , and click in ArchiveZIP.
