Laserfiche App 10

Summary

In certain troubleshooting scenarios, Laserfiche Technical Support may request a log of HTTP/HTTPS traffic between the Laserfiche App and the Laserfiche Mobile Server. This article documents using a third-party tool (Fiddler) to create log.

More Information

If the Laserfiche Mobile Server is hosted on a web server that is accessible from the mobile device over a shared Wi-Fi connection, see the following steps:

  1. Install Fiddler (for .NET 4) on a workstation that is on the same network as the Laserfiche Mobile Server.
  2. Run Fiddler.
  3. From the Tools menu, select Fiddler Options.
  4. Click the HTTPS tab and select the Decrypt HTTPS traffic option.
  5. Click the Connections tab and select the Allow remote computers to connect option.
  6. Note the port number specified in the Fiddler listens on Port option.
  7. Close Fiddler and reopen Fiddler.
  8. Note the IP address of this computer that has Fiddler installed.
  9. From the Tools menu, select Fiddler Options.
  10. On the mobile device, view the settings for the Wi-Fi network that will be used to connect to Laserfiche Mobile Server and enable proxy settings and for the host. Use the IP address from step 8 and the port from step 6.
  11. Connect to the repository from the app and confirm that Fiddler on the workstation is now recording the web traffic.
  12. While Fiddler is logging traffic, recreate the issue at least two times.
  13. Export the logs. Select all entries created while recreating the issue, right-click point to Save, Selected Sessions , and click in ArchiveZIP.
