This article documents the new features and changes for Quick Fields 10.
Quick Fields 10 includes a new Quick Fields Server, a new Quick Fields Scanning application, Quick Fields Agent, and Quick Fields (the original application).
Quick Fields Server
The Quick Fields Server is a centralized storage location for sessions and document classes.
- The Quick Fields Server is accessed through the web-based Quick Fields Administration Console.
- In the Quick Fields Administration Console, you can
- View details about sessions and document classes (when they were created, modified, their sample pages, access rights, versions, etc.)
- Add users and groups and assign session and document class access rights appropriately.
- Download and import sessions and document classes.
- Link document classes to different sessions since they are now separate from each other.
- Transport sessions and document classes from one Quick Fields Server to another.
- Sessions and document classes can be published to the Quick Fields Server using Quick Fields.
- Sessions and document classes stored on a Quick Fields Server can be run using Quick Fields or Quick Fields Scanning.
Quick Fields Scanning
Quick Fields Scanning is a desktop application specifically designed for scanner operators to facilitate scanning.
- Access and run sessions from the Quick Fields Server or build your own workspace with new scan settings.
- Once documents are scanned, scanner operators can easily
- View and identify unidentified documents.
- Reprocess documents.
- View and edit metadata, including dynamic fields.
- Modify documents (rename, rotate, delete, etc.).
- Store documents to Laserfiche.
Quick Fields
- You can now publish sessions and document classes to a Quick Fields Server from Quick Fields.
- You no longer have to activate Quick Fields from the Start Page. Activation is handled during installation.
- The Token Accumulator process now works with token names containing accents. (136450)
- The Token Collector process now copies and pastes successfully. (113470)
- Running a Barcode process no longer fails when using Windows 10. (133053)
- Running certain large PDFs through Quick Fields no longer fails. (129925)
- A Form Alignment or Form Extraction process placed after a Barcode process no longer fails. (142008)
- For some processes, pattern matching did not use single-line mode during testing. This sometimes caused different results between testing and runtime for certain regular expressions. Testing now uses the single-line mode and matches runtime behavior. (128923)
- Quick Fields local help no longer exists. (143224)
- The Configure Fields dialog box now automatically selects the assigned template in the drop-down menu. (143345)
- Process profiles no longer exist. (139915)
- Processes that use master forms now properly delete the temporary copies that were generated. (117277)
- Moving an OMR region using the arrow keys no longer throws an "Object reference not set" error (137635) (111728)
- Quick Fields no longer formats dates with single months incorrectly. (112056)
- A Conditional process containing image enhancements no longer runs if the condition is not satisfied. (128348)
- A Conditional process no longer fails to run when located after a Token Accumulator process. (137800)
- Unidentified documents that did not initially store to the correct folder when using the Store Immediately option now store correctly. (142702)
- The Assign Document context menu option that was missing when selecting unidentified electronic documents is no longer missing. (131524)
- LFOmniOCR.exe now works correctly when using Universal Capture and an OCR process. You no longer receive a "Failed to load image" message for certain documents. (142010)
- When a document is selected under Document Revision, the tab key no longer skips a list field in the Metadata Pane. (143107)
