Unattended batch installation

The fastest way to distribute Laserfiche Connector and the Laserfiche Connector profiles you've created to multiple machines is to perform a command line or unattended installation and to copy the XML profiles to each machine.

"InstallerPath/Setup.exe" SetupParameters INSTALLLEVEL=InstallLevel Properties

  • If you want the profiles to be accessible for all users on a machine, copy the profile XML files to C:\Users\All Users\Laserfiche\Connector\Profiles.
  • If you want the profiles to be accessible for specific users on a machine, copy the profile XML files to %appdata%\Laserfiche\Connector\Profiles for the specific user.

Third-party software accessibility

Some additional configuration may be necessary to run Laserfiche Connector from Internet Explorer, an application that hosts Internet Explorer controls, Chrome, or a Java-based application. See these instructions for more information.

Known Issues

  • If you use OCR text on a remote desktop that does not have its color depth set to "Highest Quality(32bit)," the target application's controls are not selectable. (128940)
  • When using Laserfiche Connector on a remote desktop, and when using OCR to analyze a window, you may get unexpected results if the target application is partially hidden by another application. Ensure the application you are targeting does not have any windows or applications showing in front of it. (128129)
  • When selecting a control in Chrome with UI automation, you cannot select controls hidden behind a scroll bar inside an iFrame that has a different source. (120818)
  • If you change text size through Personalize -> Display in Windows, Laserfiche Connector selection rectangles may be offset in certain applications. To get the rectangles to be position correctly, open the properties for the target application and select "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" on the Compatibility tab. After you've configured Laserfiche Connector, you can clear this option. (127127)
  • If you try to define tokens in Chrome and the Chrome bookmark bar is hidden, the control selection rectangle may be offset from the actual controls on the page. Show and then hide the bookmark bar to accurately select controls. (121145).
  • When selecting an application with the Profile Creator, you cannot select a browser window when the browser is in full screen mode. (117931)
  • When a Firefox browser is in full screen mode, clicking the overlay button will make the action list disappear. (117566)
  • When selecting a control in Chrome with UI automation, Chrome will crash if you select an application on a webpage that has a multi-selection element. (121613)
  • If a profile is configured to prompt for login information when scanning in the Laserfiche Client, and the user enters Windows account credentials instead of Laserfiche account credentials, Laserfiche Scanning will encounter an error. Change the profile to use Windows authentication if users will be logging in with their Windows account credentials. (122203)
  • Controls cannot be selected on web pages opened in Microsoft Edge if JavaScript was used to analyze the page. Use UI automation or OCR to analyze the page instead. (129428)
  • When OCRing a web page opened in Microsoft Edge, the browser's title and menu will be included in the OCR results. (129429)
  • When running a Laserfiche Connector action from Microsoft Edge, the Laserfiche Connector button may disappear from the target application while the action is running. (129511)
