Laserfiche Connector for Samsung

Summary

Laserfiche Connector for Samsung provides a single integrated solution for scanning, assigning metadata, printing, searching, and browsing a Laserfiche repository. This software integrates with Multi-Function Devices (MFDs) to leverage these smart devices and to provide a convenient way to communicate with your Laserfiche Server from a Samsung MFD. Laserfiche Connector for Samsung 10 is the first release of this application.

Installation Information

Pre-installation Configuration

  • Generate a license file (lf.licx) with the Activation Utility and place it on a USB drive.
  • Verify you can access the SyncThru Web Service.

Installation

You can install Laserfiche Connector for Samsung using the SyncThru Web Service. For more information about installation, see the Laserfiche Connector for Samsung 10 Administration and User Guide included in the installation packet and on the Laserfiche Support Site.

Known Issues

  • If a paper jam occurs in the scanner, pages scanned after the jam may be missing from the scanned file. Always check the files scanned after a jam and rescan any missing pages. (130520)
  • If the scanner is using an automatic document feeder (ADF) and the feeder takes more time to run than the system timeout, the current user will be locked out and an error will occur. However, the scanner will continue to consume paper from the feeder. We recommend setting the timeout to longer than 900 in seconds or turning it off.
  • When scanning a large batch of pages (e.g., more than 300), the scanner may run out of RAM and fail to send the generated document to the Laserfiche repository. (128003)
  • If one value in a multi-value token exceeds the field's length limit, all values will be cleared, instead of just the offending value.
  • If any integer field in the repository has a default value that's greater than 32,767, Laserfiche Connector for Samsung will not be able to retrieve any templates.
  • When configuring a multi-value field for scanned documents, blank values (or values with only spaces) will be automatically removed. Filled out values will be retained. For example, if a multi-value field is given the values: "a", " ", and "b", only the values "a" and "b" will be retained. (128304)
  • When configuring multiple pages of template fields on Maple machines, an extra list item appears at the bottom of the list of fields if a popup dialog box is opened on this page. This item does not affect the document's metadata and can be ignored. (130275)
  • When configuring repository settings in the Laserfiche Connector for Samsung application, we recommend using the Laserfiche Server's machine name as the Host instead of an IP address. An IP address will fail to authenticate if your DNS server is not property configured. (125755)
