Summary
In some circumstances, you may need to reindex your repository after upgrading to Laserfiche 9.2.
Upgrading from Laserfiche 9.1 to Laserfiche 9.2
When upgrading from Laserfiche 9.1 to 9.2, you do not need to perform a separate update of your search catalog. However, as the files involved in index queuing are not compatible between Laserfiche 9.1 and Laserfiche 9.2, we strongly recommend that you ensure that all indexing is complete and that there are no documents remaining in the index queue before performing the update. (Pausing the update queue is not sufficient; the queue must be completely empty.) If the queue is empty during upgrade, the search catalog will be ready immediately after upgrading to Laserfiche 9.2.
If your index queue is not empty at the time of upgrade, you will need to reindex your repository after the upgrade is complete. You can do so from within the Administration Console (see Reindexing a Repository or Volume in the Laserfiche Administration Guide) or using Laserfiche QuickReindex.
Upgrading from Laserfiche 8.x or 9.0 to Laserfiche 9.2
The Laserfiche Full-Text Search Catalog Upgrade utility upgrades the search catalog from a Laserfiche 8.x or 9.0 repository for use with Laserfiche 9.2. It will automatically launch at the end of your Laserfiche Server upgrade, or it can be deferred and run later. See Laserfiche Full-Text Search Catalog Upgrade for more information.
When you run the Search Catalog Upgrade, you will have two choices for how to upgrade your repository: re-indexing with the Quick Re-index Utility, or recreating your catalog and re-indexing using the standard indexing procedure.
In some cases, the upgrade utility may not be able to launch automatically. If this is the case, you can also manually start the search catalog upgrade process. See Manually Completing the Search Catalog Upgrade in the Laserfiche Administration Guide for more information.
