Laserfiche App

Summary

Laserfiche Mobile is an Android and iOS app that enables you to capture, upload, and securely access and work with documents and forms inside your Laserfiche repository while on the go. This is a major release for the iOS (9.2.0.xxx) and Android (9.2.0.xxx) app. It includes an integration with Laserfiche Forms as well as an app user interface update.

System and Software Requirements for Laserfiche Mobile 9.2

Minimum System Requirements

If image processing is enabled, it is recommended that the Laserfiche Mobile Server be installed on a machine with a minimum of two cores and should not be installed on the machine that also hosts the Laserfiche Server or database.

  • Note: Although iOS 8 is not officially supported, it was minimally tested and should function properly.

  • iPad 2, iPad mini, and later

Laserfiche Components

You must have one the following configurations:

  • Laserfiche Rio 8.3 or later
  • Laserfiche Avante 8.3 or later and Laserfiche Forms 9.2 or later
  • Laserfiche Avante 8.3 or later and Web Access
  • Optional: Add Laserfiche Forms 9.2 or later to Laserfiche Rio 8.3 or later to interact with forms.

    Note: If you do not have Laserfiche Forms, you will still be able to use the app, but you will not be able to perform forms actions. You can also use the app to only review and submit forms. You are not required to connect to a repository.

    Note: Laserfiche 9.0 is required for full functionality.

Known Issues

Laserfiche Mobile Server

  • When using Google Chrome to view the Laserfiche Mobile Configuration page, you may get an error when trying to authenticate using Windows credentials. If this happens, you need to configure Kerberos. See KB 1013298 for more information. (114077)
  • On the Laserfiche Mobile Configuration page, you have to provide credentials to configure a geotag, a default volume, and authenticated users for a repository. If you switch to a different repository, then switch back, you will have to provide credentials again. (119920)
  • If you have trouble opening the Laserfiche Mobile Configuration page successfully, and you are using Internet Explorer 11, try clearing the Enable Protected Mode checkbox in the Security tab under Internet options. (120394)

Both Apps

  • Opening and closing a form without adding any information will display a "Leave Page?" dialog box informing you that unsaved changes will be lost. (117408)
  • If there are no previous uploads, new uploads will not show up under Recent Uploads until you log out and back in. (120099)
  • Thumbnails may appear blurry. (120682)
  • The "decrease" button is enabled on initial launch of the Jump to Page dialog box. (120697)
  • Thumbnails of pages that contain mixed DPIs will be displayed with incorrect dimensions. (120679)
  • After being opened, a document shortcut may stay highlighted and prevent you from re-opening the document. (120605)

Android App

  • Uploading an attachment to a form using Android 4.4.2 will not work. However, uploading attachments to forms using Android 4.4.3 and laterwill work. (115627)
  • Form fields contained in a form section may disappear when the section is collapsed and expanded again when using a 2013 Nexus 7. (115531)
  • Words in a drop-down field in a form are cut off when using a 2013 Nexus 7. (115336)
  • The text in the Image Processing options borders the left side of the screen when using a Samsung Galaxy (Android 2.3). (114754)
  • If you navigate to a folder in Laserfiche Mobile, then leave the folder to fill out a form, when you tap All Files in the main menu, you will be directed to the root of the repository instead of the last folder you were in. (113329)
  • Tapping the Rotate button multiple times quickly may crash the app. (115271)
  • Opening a sticky note, text box, or callout text box for the second time may display a blank page. (120397)

iOS App

  • A white line flashes when you expand or collapse the repository name in the main menu. (116448)
  • The app may crash when saving multiple captured images after previewing. (114709)
  • When switching from the image view to the electronic file view, you will be directed to the first page of the electronic file, instead of the corresponding image page. Also, if an image page is deleted, the pages in the image and electronic file will not be corresponding. (117741)
  • There is no close button for a document on the iPhone. Tapping the back button closes the document. (120133)
  • If Workflow sends an email with a .lfe file attached, the attachment will open as an XML file. To open the attachment in Laserfiche Mobile, tap the Export button and select Open in Laserfiche. (115441)
  • The text associated with a document image can not be printed. Only document images can be printed. (74643)
  • The title of the Jump to Page dialog box may be cut off. (120698)
  • If you are filling out a field, and you tap outside the field, the keyboard may close. (120692)
  • Assigning a template with a long name to an entry causes the name to blend with the down arrow. (120690)
  • Allowing or denying access to a device's photo gallery may restart the app. (120611)
  • Using the < and > buttons to move between fields may close the keyboard. (120607)
  • iOS 6: Tapping the Download button after submitting a form may cause the app the crash. (120357)
  • iOS 8 only

  • When adding an attachment to a form, you can only choose already existing photos in your photo gallery. (119616)
  • Exporting an electronic document that is 10 or more megabytes may take a while to export. (120501)
  • When logging into the app, it may skip the first couple of Login screens and take you to the last Login screen.
  • When in Edit mode, rotating a document image too fast will sometimes cause the image to look distorted.
  • When capturing images for a new document using your camera, you may not be able to scroll through the captured pictures. (120693)
  • Tapping the Expand button in the Document Viewer will sometimes display two menus. (120688)
  • If you are editing a document using your iPhone in portrait view, then rotate it to landscape view, the top of the image cuts off. (120684)
  • The app may crash if you are rotating your device while viewing a document's thumbnails. (120680)
  • If you are viewing a document in full screen mode on your iPad, you may not be able to scroll through the document's pages. (120677)
  • The app may be unable to identify the iPhone model number when sending Laserfiche a feedback email. (120626)
  • Tapping the "x" inside a field to clear it will close the keyboard. (120872)
