Firefox May Always Prompt You To Download And Install Web Access Scanning.

October 14, 2014 | KB: 1013507
Web Access 8, Web Access 9

Summary

When viewing Web Access through Firefox, you may be prompted to download Web Access Scanning even if you already have Web Access Scanning installed.

Cause

This issue can occur on Firefox 30 and later. By default, Firefox will not automatically run plugins. Web Access uses a browser plugin for detecting and launching Web Access Scanning.

Resolution

Configure Firefox to always activate the Laserfiche Web Access [VersionNumber] Tools plugin.

Do one of the following:

  • Upon initially loading of the Web Access site in Firefox, look for small dark-gray bars at the bottom of your browser window. Click the bar to display a browser message prompting you for whether to allow Web Access to run the Laserfiche Web Access [VersionNumber] Tools plugin. Click Allow and Remember.
  • Use the about:addons configuration page to set the Laserfiche Web Access [VersionNumber] Tools plugin to Always Activate.
