Laserfiche Mobile is an Android and iOS app that enables you to capture, upload, and securely access and work with documents inside your Laserfiche repository while on the go.
System Requirements
- If image processing is enabled, it is recommended that Web Access and the Laserfiche Mobile Add-on for Web Access is installed on a machine with a minimum of 2 cores and should not be installed on the machine that also hosts the Laserfiche Server or database.
System Requirements for Android
- Android 2.3 and higher
- Recommended 512 MB memory
System Requirements for iOS
- iOS 6.0 and later
- iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5C, 5S
- iPad 2, iPad mini, and later
Software Requirements
Add-on
- If a Laserfiche Mobile 9.1.1 app is connected to a version of the add-on earlier than 9.0, you will not be able to view annotations, work with business processes, or correctly update upload statuses. Update the add-on for full functionality.
- When using the Laserfiche Mobile Add-on to configure OCR languages, if the browser window is zoomed over 100%, you cannot scroll down in the list of OCR languages. Use the arrow keys to navigate the list instead. (113083)
Both Apps
- The electronic document cache is only cleared if the user is logged out and returns to the log in page. It will not be cleared if the app closes unexpectedly. (110501)
- On Android devices, Excel files uploaded from Google Drive will be saved as PDFs. On iOS devices, they will be saved as ZIP files with HTML and CSS files in them. If you open the HTML file, you can view the spreadsheet as a web page. (109703, 113854)
- Files uploaded from another app or from your device's file system will not appear on the Recent Uploads page. Only image files captured from the gallery or camera will appear in Recent Uploads. (108745)
- The Recent Uploads list will be cleared when you update the app from version 9.0 to 9.1.1. (114741)
- The "Remember me" setting will be cleared when you update the app from version 9.0 to 9.1.1. Re-enter your password to log in. (114740)
- Large files (e.g., files exceeding 50MB) cannot be uploaded from another app. (109109; 113493)
- The app terminates unexpectedly when opening files larger than 50MB in the electronic document viewer. (109153)
- In the iOS app, seconds will only be recorded the first time a time or date/time field is set. The Android app will not record seconds. (113540)
- Tapping the page number box on PDF electronic documents will not let you jump to a specific page like it will for image or text documents. (110871)
- Custom field formats will not be displayed correctly in Laserfiche Mobile. (99203)
- A user may be logged out automatically when viewing an electronic document (except PDFs) when the "automatic logout" option is enabled on the Configuration Page. (100886)
- When the server session times out the app, you will be prompted to enter your password to continue. If you enter your password and click OK, the app will stay on the last paged viewed. If you click cancel, the app will return to the login screen and the cache will be cleared. (110301)
- The app occasionally terminates if you zoom in and out continuously by pinching image documents. If the user logs out or the app session times out, the app will return to the login page. (106421)
- The app terminates unexpectedly if you continuously rotate images in the app. (109312)
Android App
- If you start a camera or image gallery upload process from the widget and cancel it before logging in, you must log in before the widget will work again. (111110)
- If you export a PDF document to the Kindle app, the Export Edoc option will not work a second time because the Kindle app cannot open the electronic document and is no longer responding. Force quit the Kindle app and export the electronic document to another app. (107694)
- When opening a Gmail attachment in the Laserfiche app, an error may occur. Open the attachment again to clear the error. (110725)
- On the Nexus 7, date, time, date/time, and geotag independent fields cannot be removed. To remove the fields, rotate the device or re-enter the metadata. (108783, 108598)
- On the Nexus 7, when opening an electronic document that does not have enough text to fill screen, the bottom part of the screen will be black, even when exported. (109495)
- On the Nexus 7, occasionally, independent fields are not removed completely when deleted and leave a blank row. Rotate the device to resolve the issue. (108599)
- On the Samsung Galaxy Player (version 2.3.5), number, integer, and long integer fields will accept various symbols (such as, : ! / + $) but will error while saving. (108783)
- On the Samsung Galaxy Player, users will occasionally get the error: "The user account or password is incorrect" when logging in to their trial account. Log in should be successful on the second try. (107566)
- On the Samsung Galaxy Player (version 2.3.5) and LG (OS 4.0.4), the keyboard is not hidden if you keep adding new photos (from the camera) to a new document. You must manually close the keyboard. (110026)
- On the Samsung Galaxy Player, occasionally users cannot scroll down when viewing metadata and the trial account registration. To re-enable scrolling, force quit the app. (108901)
- On the Samsung Galaxy Player (version 2.3.5), due to memory limitations, users must log into the app when opening email links to entries in the repository. Additionally, users may see a blank loading page twice before being re-directed to the app. (108857, 108862)
- On the Samsung Galaxy Player, if the user enters more characters in a field than allowed by the constraint, the existing characters will be replaced with the most recently added characters. (108874)
- On the Samsung Galaxy Player, the device will force close and re-launch the app when you open a mobile link configured to open an entry's metadata from a browser app (such as, Chrome or Firefox). The app will often then get stuck on the metadata screen until the user swipes right. (108855)
- On LG devices, electronic documents cannot be exported to the devices' native email app. (109179)
- On the LG/Samsung tablet, numbers cannot be pasted after copying them from a field. (107716)
- On some devices, choosing to upload a new image from the camera changes the devices' orientation to landscape. (108610)
- On some devices, tapping the check mark to import is unresponsive for the first couple of taps. (110503)
- Not all devices will show the character last typed when entering a password. (110453)
- Occasionally, scrolling does not work on the metadata page. This behavior occurs consistently on the Samsung Galaxy Player (version 2.3.5). (107010)
- When cutting or copying field values, the entire value will be cut or copied. You cannot cut or copy only part of the value. (107720)
- When entering field values, the Next and Previous buttons skip date, time, date/time, and list fields. (108105)
iOS App
- If you force close the iOS app immediately after creating a document, the app will terminate unexpectedly the next time you log in. (114610)
- On iOS 7.0 devices, a white block will appear when you return to the parent folder or list of libraries after viewing a single folder or library. Scroll up or down to remove the white block. (112734)
- On iOS 7.0 devices, if you open a mobile link that runs a search, you cannot cancel the search. (113406)
- If you take pictures, preview the pictures, and then save them as a new document, the app may crash. This is a memory/hardware limitation and is more common on iOS 6 devices. (114709)
Add-on
- The Laserfiche Mobile Image Processing service is a shared service and gets installed when you install the Laserfiche Mobile Web service and the Distributed Processing service. If you uninstall the Laserfiche Mobile Web service, the Laserfiche Mobile Image Processing service is stopped. (101113)
- Required fields will only display a red star if the add-on is version 9.0 or later. (109325)
- XML tags in the Email text box cannot be saved on the Configuration page. (109255)
