Summary

This article details Service Pack 1 (hotfix 1013480) for Laserfiche Server, Client, Scanning, Web Access and Web Administration Console 9.1.1. See the following lists of changes for the desired product.

Note: Service Pack 1 was updated to resolve an issue that prevented certain installations from logging in with Windows Authentication. If you downloaded Service Pack 1 prior to June 4, 2014, re-download the update. If you have already installed Service Pack 1 (Laserfiche Client 9.1.1.545 or Web Access 9.1.1.254), first uninstall Service Pack 1 before installing the updated Service Pack 1.

Laserfiche Server

  • Viewing a version-controlled electronic document that was migrated from another volume no longer displays an "Invalid checksum detected" message. (112399)
  • Laserfiche now properly supports opening Office 2013 documents through WebDAV. Previously, users could receive prompts for user credentials when opening Office 2013 documents. (112004)
  • Search speed is improved for compound searches involving multiple search types. (112568)
  • Laserfiche no longer becomes unstable when tracing is enabled for Session events and a user logs in with Windows authentication. (112818)
  • Laserfiche could encounter SQL connection issues that log database execution error messages in the Windows Event Log similar to "Connection is busy with results for another command." This issue is now resolved. (113650)
  • You can now configure the registry to stop the Laserfiche Server from automatically attempting to republish a service connection point in order to prevent client programs from being able to automatically detect the existence of the Laserfiche Server instance. Using the Windows Registry Editor, browse to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Laserfiche\Engine\8.0 key. Modify the value of SCPBindingPath by deleting the LDAP:// protocol prefix. (114274)
  • Laserfiche no longer attempts to generate thumbnails for page images that are wider or taller than 32767 pixels or if the width x height exceeds 402653184 pixels. (114228, 112196)
  • The Laserfiche Event Trace Controller (LFTraceCtl.exe) no longer crashes when launched without elevated rights. (112512)
  • When the Resolve shortcuts (may slow search performance ) search results display option is disabled, Laserfiche no longer displays shortcuts in the search results for unauthorized users. (115005)
  • Laserfiche now returns a more informative message when all licenses are in use in Laserfiche Team and Laserfiche United systems. (114144)

Laserfiche Client

  • You no longer receive a "The object must have its connection set before it can be used. [771]" error message after copying or moving several documents between different repositories in the same Client instance. (112217, 114024)
  • 1013448 The Laserfiche Client 9.1.x Folder Browser May Be Slow When The "Remembered for each individual folder" Column Option Is Enabled. (112316)
  • User accounts without the Export feature right can no longer copy and paste a document into Windows Explorer. (112453)
  • Laserfiche now properly constructs a search syntax string when searching for a value that contains an operator and the search is on an indexed field. (113880)
  • The Location bar no longer inserts "C:\Program Files (x86)\Laserfiche\Client" into the path for recent documents. (111872)
  • Text location data could be incorrect when temporary image enhancements rotated the page prior to OCR. This issue is now resolved. (113810)
  • The Laserfiche Client no longer attempts to display thumbnails for pages that are wider or taller than 32767 pixels or if the width x height exceeds 402653184 pixels. (114572)
  • 1013474 An "Attempted an unsupported operation." Error Occurs When Adding An Existing Document To A Link Group In Laserfiche Client 9.1.1. (112870)
  • Deleting a folder from the folder pane now properly prompts for a delete reason when appropriate. (115057)

  • Viewing a schedule or instance history no longer requires being a Quick Fields Agent system manager. (112124)

Web Access

  • Web Access no longer automatically inserts single quotes around the specified search term in custom quick searches. (115017)
  • Dynamic fields now properly support having an intermediate field that does not contain values. (114669)
  • In the Within Folder search type, the Select a Folder to Search window may be empty when using Internet Explorer. This issue is now resolved. (114617)
  • Additional search results now properly load after scrolling when a search is launched via a URL and results are sorted using a column other than Name. (114583)
  • Web Access no longer attempts to generate thumbnails for page images that are wider or taller than 32767 pixels or if the width x height exceeds 402653184 pixels. (114577, 112196)
  • Custom quick searches now support passing the %(SearchTerm) token multiple times into a complex custom search string. (114482)
  • Column profiles saved to the EVERYONE group are once again available to everyone. If there is a naming conflict between a column profile in the EVERYONE group and a personal column profile, only the personal column profile will be displayed. (114481)
  • In certain directory configurations, you could encounter an unexpected performance hit when first opening a folder in a session. This issue is now resolved. (112341)
  • The Settings dialog box no longer displays the selected OCR language as "Tinpo" when the saved language is "English" and you reopen the dialog box. This issue was a display issue with the drop-down list and did not affect functionality. (111954)
  • You no longer receive an "Entry not found: 9001" error message when launching Web Access via a URL that contains the view=newroot parameter to view a folder where you do not have browse rights on the parent folder. (111929 )
  • There was a potential version mismatch when verifying the version of a Distributed Computing Cluster Scheduler. This issue is now resolved. (113783)
  • The Folder Browser and Search Results pane no longer display a "Value does not fall within the expected range" error message when you have an invalid column display setting. (115096)

Resolution

Note: This update is included as part of the Laserfiche Avante 9.1.1 and Laserfiche Rio 9.1.1 installation packages available on the Laserfiche Support Site after June 4, 2014. When using the updated installation to install Laserfiche 9.1.1 for the first time, the installation process will automatically detect and install the service pack. If you have not yet installed Laserfiche 9.1.1, please download the most recent version of the Laserfiche Avante or Laserfiche Rio installations. If you need to update an existing Laserfiche Avante or Laserfiche Rio installation, please download the following zip file.
