Or you may be unable to assign a domain account during the service configuration step of the installation.
Upgrading from Laserfiche 9.0.x
After installing Laserfiche Server 9.1, the Server will be able to automatically update the database for you. This update process will happen the first time the Laserfiche Server 9.1 attempts to load a Laserfiche 9.0.x repository. The update process happens behind the scenes, and does not require any user input. It is performed in-place, and does not create a new database. When the update is complete, your repository will be compatible with the Laserfiche 9.1 Server.
Note: With large databases, the automatic schema update may some time. Be aware that your laserfiche repository will be inaccessible during this process even though the Laserfiche Server service is running. Check the Windows Event Log to see when the process is complete.
Important: This update occurs in-place and does not create a new database. Therefore, you should ensure that you have a working backup before installing the Laserfiche 9.1 Server or registering your Laserfiche 9.0 repository to it.
Once you have finished installing Laserfiche Server 9.1, you will also need to update your search catalog.
Upgrading from Laserfiche 8
If you have a Laserfiche repository of version 8.0.x through 8.3.x, you do not need to perform a full migration to upgrade to Laserfiche 9. Instead, once you have upgraded your Server installation to Laserfiche 9, the Server will be able to automatically update the database for you. This update process will happen the first time the Laserfiche Server 9.0 attempts to load a Laserfiche 8.0.x-8.3.x repository. The update process happens behind the scenes, and does not require any user input. It is performed in-place, and does not create a new database. When the update is complete, your repository will be compatible with the Laserfiche 9 Server.
Important: This update occurs in-place and does not create a new database. Therefore, you should ensure that you have a working backup before installing the Laserfiche 9 Server or registering your Laserfiche 8 repository to it.
Once you have finished installing Laserfiche Server 9, you will also need to update your search catalog. During the Laserfiche Server 9 installation process, you will be prompted to update your Laserfiche 8.x search catalog files. All other Laserfiche products, including the Laserfiche Client, Client components, and Web Access, will be updated in place when you install the 9.x versions of those applications.
