Laserfiche Does Not Seem To Reflect Expected License Changes After You Manually Activate A Product.

December 30, 2013 | KB: 1013387
Laserfiche 8, Laserfiche 9

Summary

See the following scenario:

  • You purchased an additional feature for your Laserfiche Server and used ActivationTool.exe to reactivate the Laserfiche Server. The Activation Tool indicates that the product was successfully activated.
  • After restarting the Laserfiche Server service and logging in to your repository, you find that the feature is not available.

More Information

The most common cause for this issue is that the old license file has not been replaced with the new file generated by the Activation Tool.

By default, the Laserfiche Activation Tool saves the new license file to the Windows Desktop. Please make sure to copy the new license file to the appropriate installation location for your Laserfiche product or change the path value specified under Save license as in the Activation Tool. For example, in the sample scenario outlined in the article summary, make sure to copy the new license file to the Laserfiche Server installation folder before restarting the service. By default, the Laserfiche Server is installed at C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Server.
