Summary

Parallel gateways that merge process flows containing gateways or service tasks may cause process instances to stall indefinitely.

Cause

When a gateway or service task occurs in a process flow that precedes a merging parallel gateway, the process will continue to wait at the gateway even after both process flows have finished.

Workaround

If possible, restructure the process model to avoid using a merging parallel gateway.
