Summary

This article highlights changes and fixes for Laserfiche 9.0.3.

Laserfiche Server

• You now have the option to control whether Laserfiche forces WebLink 7 and WebLink 8 to always display redactions. You can manually modify the value for AlwaysRedactForWebLink in the dboptions table in your Laserfiche SQL database. By default, when WebLink 7 or 8 connects to a Laserfiche Server 9 repository, the See Through Redactions entry access right is ignored and redactions will always be applied. Set the dboptions value to 0 to allow users with the See Through Redactions right to see document content behind redactions when using WebLink. (106115)
• Laserfiche again defaults to enabling Windows access control inheritance on electronic files in a volume. (104458)
• LDAP trustees no longer receive "Invalid request (785)" errors and can properly modify trustee attributes such as column settings. (104436)
• The Laserfiche Server now automatically rolls over the audit log when there is an initialization failure when opening the log. The log file is renamed to LFR____.tmp. Previously, this issue could prevent users from logging in to Laserfiche with a "Could not enable audit log. [9237]" error message. (103653)
• The Within Folder search now supports folder names that contain certain Arabic characters. (103701)
• Version comments now display when adding a new document version via either drag and drop or file import. (103800)
• When exporting volumes, size calculations are now more efficient. (104028)
• Users must now be granted the Purge Entries and Manage Entry Access privileges to purge pages deleted by other users. (105607)
• The check in/check out feature now properly supports users checking out and checking back in documents where they only have read rights on fields. (105121)
• In certain situations, deleting an electronic document could display an "Error 9008: cannot insert NULL into recycle_elec.edoc_shared." This issue is now resolved. (105232).
• Laserfiche briefcases that contain a document with an attachment annotation with an ampersand (&) in the file name no longer display a "The briefcase file is invalid or corrupt. [9112]" error message during import. (105233)

Laserfiche Client

• 1013340 Enabling the Link All Image Annotations Option In Laserfiche Client 9.0.3 And Later. (105750)
• The Client no longer becomes unstable on idle disconnect if the Refresh folders automatically option is enabled for the Folder Browser. (105687)
• Users granted the View details right for business processes can also see that business process's details in the Laserfiche Client. (103050)
• The Laserfiche Client now remembers basic search options chosen by users. (81579)
• Pages extracted from multi-page TIFF JPEG no longer compress as LZW on import. (105110)
• Authorized users can now properly undo check outs. (105668)

Snapshot

• Snapshot now retains the trailing backslash character in the default folder path that you specify in the Laserfiche Snapshot Configuration dialog box. (103174)

Office Integration

• The Import to Laserfiche dialog box now properly supports the [Settings]CacheFieldValues and [Settings]MaxDropDownLength trustee attributes introduced with Laserfiche Client 9.0.2. (102409)
• Laserfiche can now detect changes in active controls in Office documents when you close the document without saving. (105180)

Laserfiche Scanning

• In certain situations, Kofax scanning did not function correctly when you disable the Auto Color Detection option by setting AutoColorDetect=0 in QFKofax.ini. This issue is now resolved. (105259)
• You no longer receive an "object reference not set" error message when launching Scanning if there is no default volume set on a folder. (99076)

Audit Trail

• The Entry ID, Full Path, and Entry Name column values were not properly imported in the reporting database for certain events. This issue is now resolved. (106107).

Laserfiche 9.0.3 also includes all updates released for Laserfiche 9.0.2.
