This article highlights the changes and fixes for Laserfiche Forms 9.1
- Many pages in Laserfiche Forms have been redesigned to be faster, easier to use, and better looking.
- The Style page is now called the Themes page.
- The Rules page has been broken into two pages, Field Rules and Lookup Rulesm so that it will be easier for users to access either rule type.
- The Script page is now called the CSS and JavaScript page.
- The 2000 character limit on CSS and JavaScript on the CSS and JavaScript page has been removed.
- Participant users are now available. These limited-functionality users can log in with a particular email address that has been assigned a participant license from the Participants tab of the System Security page. Participant users can start process instances and perform user tasks, but they cannot create or administer business processes.
- Lookup rules now support Oracle data sources.
- Lookup rules can now use SQL stored procedures with Microsoft SQL data sources.
- On the Results page for a process, Admin users can create reports, user-defined views of instance information that can be tailored to show only relevant information. Reports can be assigned to users and accessed from the My Reports page.
- The My Reports page has been added. On this page, users can see any reports that have been assigned to them.
- Lookup rules no longer require a condition to be evaluated. As a result, you can use lookup rules to automatically populate a field with data when a form loads.
- The System Security page now automatically populates a list of users based on the Laserfiche repository specified on the Laserfiche Forms Configuration page and the LDAP server specified on the System Settings page. This list of user will be automatically synchronized with the appropriate servers after a certain period of time, specified on the Laserfiche Forms Configuration Page, and can be manually synchronized from the System Settings page.
- The Basic User product-level role has been added. Users with this role can start and be given the Admin role for processes, but cannot create processes.
- The My User Settings page has been added. On this page, participant users can edit their username, displayname, and time zone; LDAP and Active Directory named users can specify their time zone; and Laserfiche named users can specify their display name, email address, and time zone.
- The Save to Repository service task has been added to the Process Modeler. This service task saves a copy of a particular form and its attachments to the Laserfiche repository. With this service task, you can specify the repository where the form will be saved, add a template and fields to the submission, and assign form field or process data to the Laserfiche template and fields.
- A new timer start event has been added to the Process Modeler. This start event can start a process once on a given date or multiple times based on a schedule.
- An intermediate timer event has been added to the Process Modeler. Intermediate timer events used within the main process flow delay the flow. Intermediate timer events attached to user tasks are used for exception handling and cause an exception flow to be taken.
- A Process Settings button has been added to the Process Modeler toolbar. This button opens the Process Settings window, where you can specify a name for process instances and a time zone for the process.
- An Annotation object has been added to the Process Modeler. This object allows you to annotate your process model, making it easier for others to understand.
- When editing a field in the Form Designer, you can now use variables in the settings for most field types. These variables include: current user information (username, name, or email), instance information (instance ID, start date, initiator's username, name, or email), and information from the last task performed in the process (action, comments, completion date, participant details).
- If a process instance fails at a particular step, it will be suspended. You can retry suspended instances from the Results page. For example, if a Save to Repository service task fails to save a form submission to the repository, you could retry this task after troubleshooting the issue.
- You can now enable CAPTCHA for the starting form of a process.
- User tasks can now be completed via email when Direct Approval is selected in that user task's settings. This feature requires that an incoming mail server be specified for Laserfiche Forms to use on the Laserfiche Forms Configuration page.
- The Custom HTML field now features a rich text editor.
- The Direct Approval feature has been added to user tasks. When Direct Approval is enabled, that task can be completed via email.
