The Laserfiche Forms 9 Installation Process May Not Automatically Create A Valid License File With The Forms Portal Add-on.

Summary

When installing Laserfiche Forms with the Forms Portal Add-on, the installation process may not be able to automatically generate a valid license file from the Rio License Manager. See the following scenario:

  1. During the Laserfiche Product Activation step in the Laserfiche Forms installation process, you choose the Activate using the Rio License Manager and finish the installation process.
  2. When configuring Laserfiche Forms, the Access Rights tab does not contain a section that allows you to select between the Public access and Authentication required access types.

Workaround

Use the License Manager to manually register the Forms instance and generate a new license file. Be sure to select Forms Portal when registering the instance. Enable the Save license as option and save a copy of the license file. Copy the license file to the Laserfiche Forms computer and place it in the bin subfolder of the Laserfiche Forms installation folder. By default, the license file should go in C:\Program Files (x86)\Laserfiche\Laserfiche Forms\Forms\bin or C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Laserfiche Forms\Forms\bin.

Restart IIS and the Laserfiche Forms Routing service.
