When attaching a licensing database, you may receive the following error message:
This error can occur when moving your licensing database from one computer to another. When attaching your existing licensing database to your new License Manager Server, you may receive this error when using the Request the primary license from Laserfiche option on the Attach Licensing Database dialog box.
Manually use the Laserfiche Activation Tool to generate a primary license file and ACTIVATIONKEY file. When attaching your licensing database, select the Import the primary license from a file option and select the primary license file that you manually generated with the Activation Tool.
To generate a primary license with the Laserfiche Activation Tool
- Browse to the License Manager installation folder. By default, the installation path is "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\License Manager."
- Double-click ActivatonTool.exe.
- Specify your Laserfiche Rio activation key.
- Select where to save the primary license and make sure to also select the Save the activation key in an ACTIVATIONKEY file option.
- Click Activate to create the files.
To attach a licensing database using a generated primary license
- Open the Laserfiche License Manager Administration Console.
- Expand the Laserfiche License Manager node, and select your License Server. Either open the Action menu or right-click the node. Select Attach Licensing Database. This will open the Attach Licensing Database dialog box.
- In the Database name option, enter the name of the licensing database you want to attach.
- In the Database file option, specify the path to your licensing database.
- In the Primary License section, select Import the primary license from a file.
- Click the browse button (...) and browse to the primary license you created using the Activation Tool.
- Click OK.
