Summary

This article documents the list of changes for Quick Fields 9.0.

New Features

See the following list of new features in Quick Fields 9.0.

  • New Processes
    • Assign Token Value: Assign Token Value creates new tokens and updates the values of existing tokens to be used by other Quick Fields processes.
    • Conditional: A Conditional runs the contained processes if its conditions are satisfied, allowing more granularity within document classes.
    • Token Accumulator: The Token Accumulator process accumulates values from one token across a variety of pages within the same document class and creates a multi-value token with those values.
  • When copying and pasting zones, you can right-click on the location you want to place the zone and select Paste (using CTRL+C and CTRL+V pastes the zone on top of the original zone).
  • When you are zoomed in to an image and you add a zone, the zone will be added to the top left of where you are zoomed in (what you are looking at) as opposed to having to zoom out and grab it from the top left of the actual image to drag it to a new location.
  • The default optimization settings for OCR and Zone OCR has been changed from Standard to Balanced.
  • You can now define how much of an image a zoom field will occupy.
  • Naming a process is part of the process’ configuration wizard making it easier to name processes.

  • There are new options in the Quick Fields Options dialog box:
    • Use JPEG compression: Selecting this option will change the default format of color or grayscale pages generated from PDFs or images scanned through Quick Fields using Laserfiche Capture Engine, WIA capture engine, TWAIN, ScanConnect, or Kofax scan sources.
    • Allow editing of list fields: If this option is selected, you will be able to type text into the list field box, add tokens, or select a value from the list's drop-down menu.
    • Show summaries for document classes in the Options tab: Specify if you want summaries displayed under each option in a document class's Options tab.

    • When a token value is set by multiple pages, always use the first non-blank value (instead of the most recent non-blank value): For processes that are configured to retrieve information from multiple pages and save that information as a token, by default, the last non-blank value found is the one that is used. This option uses the first non-blank value found instead.
