Summary

When scanning JPEG color images with Kofax, Laserfiche Scanning may create larger than expected color images.

Cause

Laserfiche Scanning 8.1.2 and later sets the default JPEG compression level to 100 when scanning with Kofax.

Workaround

If you do not need to use the Auto Color Detection Kofax option, you can manually modify the QFKofax.ini file to disable the option.

1. Browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\Batch Processor (on a 64-bit version of Windows, C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Laserfiche\Batch Processor) and open QFKofax.ini with a text editor.
2. Under the [Options] section, add the following line:

   AutoColorDetect=0

3. Save your changes to QFKofax.ini.
