Workflow 9

Summary

In order for the Verify PDF Signatures activity in Workflow 9 to verify DocuSign PDF signatures, you must first import a set of Adobe and DocuSign certificates into the Workflow Server's trusted root certification authorities.

More Information

The necessary certificates are available from signed DocuSign PDF files.

To retrieve the Adobe and DocuSign certificates

  1. Open a signed PDF with Adobe Reader.
  2. In Adobe Reader, click Signature Panel to load the Signatures panel.
  3. Expand Signature Details, and click Certificate Details.
  4. Export the 3 certificates in the DocuSign chain:
    • Adobe Root CA
    • Entrust CA for Adobe
    • DocuSign, Inc.

Use the Certificates MMC snap-in to add the above certificates to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities node of the Workflow Server's local machine certificate store.

Note: Make sure that the Certificates snap-in is configured to manage certificates for the Computer account. The Adobe and DocuSign certificates must be in the Workflow Server's local machine certificate store, not the certificate store for a user account.
