Business processes won't run if WebDav or a SharePoint Server is using the default IIS website's port

Summary

If you have the Laserfiche Client with WebDAV enabled or a SharePoint Server on the same machine as the Workflow Web Service, WebDav or SharePoint will interfere with the Workflow Web Service's use of port 80. Since port 80 is the default port for the default IIS website used by the Workflow Web Service, business processes will fail to run and produce the following error: "Error launching Business Process: Entry:\[entry name] Error Type: Network Error Error Message: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found." (SCR 101177)

Resolution

  1. If WebDav is using port 80, change the port used by the default website in IIS to something other than port 80. If SharePoint is using port 80, SharePoint will have already changed the default IIS website port. Make a note of the new port number and proceed to the next step.
  2. Update the Workflow Web Service to use the new port. (For more information about how to update the Workflow Web Service, see the online help files.)
  3. Republish all business processes.
