This article highlights changes and fixes for Laserfiche 8.3.2.

Laserfiche Server

• You can again modify the trustee account with ID 5. (96913)
• Search performance is improved for Field and Within Folder searches. (96256)
• There was a potential upgrade issue when upgrading a Laserfiche 8.1.2 database if the Laserfiche Server is unexpectedly shut down during the upgrade process. This issue is now resolved. (96163)
• In certain scenarios, you could receive an "Invalid Pointer" error message when an LFSO client program called the ILFDomainAccount.GetGroups() method on a Windows account. This issue is now resolved. (95945)
• Searches involving record series code are now faster. (95168)
• Laserfiche now correctly exposes performance counters on 64-bit computers when the Laserfiche Server instance hosts 2 or more repositories. (93612)
• After importing a briefcase into an encrypted volume, copying and pasting pages from the imported documents into another existing document in the encrypted volume could display a "Failed to load image [6604]" error. This issue is now resolved. (92441, 92440)
• In certain domain configurations, you could receive a "Name translation: Input name found, but not the associated output format. [6000:0x80072118]" error message when attempting to view the effective rights for a Windows account. This issue is now resolved. (92375)
• Laserfiche Server now attempts to update the name/location of the License Manager licensing database in its repository named user database should you change the name of the License Manager licensing database. (92368)
• Laserfiche now returns error 9269 for searches that are too complex. Previously, such a search could cause the server to become unstable. (91541)

Laserfiche Client

• Laserfiche did not properly import certain TIFF files that were of TIFF JPEG (Type 6) format. This issue is now resolved. (97013)
• The Generate Pages option can now generate image pages for PDF files with CCITT T.6 images. (96865)
• The Client temporarily stops automatically refreshing the folder browser if two users are simultaneously modifying entry names in the same folder. (96372)
• You no longer receive an "Unable to cast object of type 'iTextSharp.text.pdf.PRIndirectReference' to type 'iTextSharp.text.pdf.PdfArray' error when generating pages from certain PDF files. (95265)
• The Client now properly loads saved searches stored on the Everyone group. (94455)
• In a restricted named user environment, the Client now displays an error message when restricted users attempt to save non-Office electronic documents as a new version. (93624)
• Generating image pages on certain types of PDF files that you drag and drop into the Laserfiche Client could result in images that are flipped vertically and horizontally. This issue is now resolved. (93546)
• The Reset Saved Columns option now functions correctly on Windows XP Service Pack 3. (93180)
• Folder Browser load times are now faster in select situations. (93123)
• By default, the Laserfiche Client attempts to disable the Print Screen key keyboard on your keyboard. On certain computers, this can result in an "Error logging in. The Laserfiche client was unable to intercept the Print Screen hot key." error message. You can now disable this functionality by either (93090):
  • Setting the [Settings]PrintScreenIntercept trustee attribute to No on the Everyone group.
  • Setting the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Laserfiche\Client8\Profile\Settings\PrintScreenIntercept registry value to a string of No.
• The Metadata dialog box displays the Links tab for folders. (92853)
• The Text search type in the Search Pane now correctly handles search strings that contain reserved characters. (92521)
• You no longer receive an "Unspecified error [6000:0x80004005] (Unspecified error)" message when setting the default volume on a folder through the Search Results pane. (91917)
• The Open Containing Folder option in the Search Results Pane no longer opens two Laserfiche Client windows for tunneled entries. (91854)
• In a Date field search, typing out a starting date and pressing the ENTER key did not correctly update the search query. Laserfiche Client now correctly recognizes that there has been a change to the search. (91851)
• In certain situations, the Laserfiche Client could become unstable if a workflow updates a list field while the Document Viewer is open to that document. This issue is now resolved. (91723)
• When importing multiple e-mail messages, the Apply these properties to all entries imported in this batch option now properly remembers changes to the Attachments options. (91349)
• Field search now properly handles the asterisk (*) wildcard character when searching fields with fixed length constraints. (90898)
• The Client no longer loses focus after you select the Save changes prompt when closing the Document Viewer. (90207)
• The Generate Pages option now correctly reduces image dimensions when downsampling PDF files. (87663)
• The Document Viewer's Electronic File Pane can now display previous versions of PDF files. (87353)
