Summary

While the SessionState timeout value in the Web Access web.config file is 30 minutes, the default Idle Time-out value for the WebAccess8AppPool application pool is 20 minutes. Web Access user sessions may time out earlier than expected.

Resolution

Match the application pool's Idle Time-out value with the Web Access 8 web.config file's SessionState timeout value.

To change the WebAccess8AppPool idle timeout

1. Load Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
2. Select the Application Pools item.
3. In the center pane, select the WebAccess8AppPool item.
4. In the Actions pane, click Advanced Settings.
5. In the Process Model section, change the Idle Time-out (minutes) option to the desired value.
