Workaround

Web Scanning 8 has a default connection timeout of 20 seconds. In certain network configurations, Web Scanning may require more time.

With Web Scanning 8.2 and later, you can configure the timeout. Under the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\LASERFICHE\Client8\Profile\Options registry key, add a DWORD value named WebScanningTimeOut to extend the timeout.

  1. On the client workstation encountering the issue, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, and click Command Prompt to load a command prompt.
  2. Type the following and press ENTER to load the Windows Registry Editor:

    regedit

  3. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
  4. Expand SOFTWARE.
  5. Expand LASERFICHE.
  6. Expand Client8.
  7. Expand Profile.
  8. Select Options.
  9. From the Edit menu, point to New and click DWORD Value.
  10. Name the value:

    WebScanningTimeOut

  11. Set the timeout to a higher value to lengthen the amount of time before the message prompt will display. You can set the value to 0 to disable the prompt.
