Laserfiche Forms

Summary

Laserfiche Forms is a Web application that allows organizations to collect, process, and route information. Users can create Web forms to collect or work with information, as well as business processes to define how that information is routed, interacted with, and managed. This article highlights the features of Laserfiche Forms.

  • The Instances page shows all of the process instances a user has started in a table view that can be filtered, sorted, and searched.
  • The Tasks page shows all of the pending and completed tasks that have been assigned to a user as part of business processes.
  • The Start page shows each business process the user can start (usually by submitting a form).
  • The Manage page lists each business process the user has administrative rights to. From this page, users can create, edit, publish, import, export, copy, and delete business processes, as well as view and export process results and data.
  • The Form Designer allows users to create and modify forms that can be used in their business processes. Users can select from single line, multi-line, radio button, checkbox, drop-down, file upload, address, number, e-mail, date, table, and currency field types and organize their forms using sections, collections of fields, and custom HTML.
  • Users can specify lookup rules to specify if information should be retrieved from an external database to populate fields, and page rules to show or hide certain fields based on the values entered in other fields.
  • JavaScript, CSS, and custom themes can be added to change the look and feel of a form.
  • Process and field variables allow form and process creators to work with information they do not currently have (but will have in the future) to enable powerful business process routing capabilities.
  • The Laserfiche Forms Process Modeler lets users create powerful, BPMN compliant process models with a friendly and easy-to-use drag-and-drop interface.
  • Users with appropriate rights can view all process instances, filtered by status, form, date, and more, as well as export process data.
  • System-level security allows users access to only process creation or to full administrative functionality.
  • Process-level security allows users access to submit form (start process) or to full administrative functionality of that process.
  • Save to Laserfiche, when enabled, saves a copy of each submitted form and the associated instance information to the Laserfiche repository.
  • With service tasks, users can create business processes that can start workflows, push notifications via webhooks, and send e-mails.
  • The Conditional Expression Builder allows users to create sophisticated routing conditions for their business processes with an easy-to-use builder.
