Summary

This article highlights the new features for Web Access 9.0

  • New with 9.0, you can now start business processes from Workflow in Web Access. The Business Process Details pane (Document Viewer) and the Business Process Details dialog box (Folder Browser) allow you to see all of the business process details associated with an entry. In addition, you can start business processes from the Folder Browser toolbar and context menu.
  • When you use Web Scanning to scan in new documents or pages, the Document Viewer and Folder Browser will automatically refresh to show your changes.
  • Web Scanning is now supported when viewing Web Access with Chrome.
  • You can now import files from your computer by dragging and dropping them into Web Access.
  • Using the Web Access Office Plugin, Web Access users now have access to the Laserfiche Office Integration and can now open Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents directly in their native Microsoft Office applications instead of manually exporting and downloading them. The Web Access Office Plugin is supported on Windows in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome.
  • In the Settings dialog box, users now have the option to restore Web Access to its default settings.
  • When generating pages for PDFs within the repository, users now have the option to generate pages as monochrome.
  • Web Access now supports having several documents set at different zoom levels open at the same time.
  • Many new actions have been added to the list of available actions that can be placed on the Folder Browser toolbar. In addition, filtering has been added to the list to make it easier to find specific actions in the list.
  • Web Access is now a .NET 4 application.
  • When you install Web Access, you now have the option of participating in Customer Feedback Program, which allows us to collect anonymous information to help us improve the quality of our products. You can opt out of participation at any time.
  • The appPool timeout for the WebAccess8AppPool has been increased to 30 minutes (up from 20 minutes) to match the default timeout setting specified in the web.config file.
