Summary

When using Web Access Scanning 8.3, you may receive an unhandled exception when specifying a field value in a constrained field. The error message will look similar to the following:

Could not load file or assembly 'Interop.LFSO82Lib, Version=8.2.0.0, Culture-neutral, PublicKeyToken=607dd73ee2bd1c00' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Cause

When validating field constraints, Web Scanning 8.3 incorrectly expects the 8.2 version of a resource that will not be available on a clean workstation where only Web Scanning 8.3 is installed.

Resolution

There is an updated version of the Web Scanning installation. Replace the existing Web Scanning installation package hosted on the Web Access server with the updated version. Subsequent users who download Web Scanning from Web Access will not encounter this issue.

To update the hosted Web Scanning installation

1. Click the following link to download the updated Web Scanning installation package.

   KB1013019.zip

2. Extract the contents of the zip file to a temporary location.
3. Replace the existing versions of LfWebScan83.exe and WebScanBuildNum.txt stored on the Web Access server in the "Web Files\Scanning" subfolder with the updated versions. The default path is "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Web Access 8\Web Files\Scanning."
