Summary

In rare situations, the Laserfiche Server 8.3.x installation process may not remove an internal component. This extra component can prevent client programs from displaying certain page images.

Cause

The Laserfiche Server installation folder may contain 2 copies of lfshlp.exe.

Resolution

Browse to the Laserfiche Server 8.3.x installation folder and check if a folder named lfshlp exists. By default, the path is C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Server\lfshlp. If the folder exists:

1. Stop the Laserfiche Server service.
2. Delete the lfshlp subfolder. Verify that a version 8.3 lfshlp.exe exists in the root of the Laserfiche Server installation path.
3. Restart the Laserfiche Server service.
