This is a generic error message that can have a variety of causes. View the LFActivationLog.txt log file for a more detailed message on the possible cause. The log file is located at:

• Windows Vista/ Windows Server 2008/Windows 7: C:\ProgramData\Laserfiche
• Windows XP/Windows Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data

One common cause is that there may be an old license file on disk. Manually remove the old lf.licx file (and ACTIVATIONKEY file if present) to complete the activation process.
