Summary

When installing Laserfiche Quick Fields 8.3, the Prerequisites step displays an error stating:

Uninstall Quick Fields Barcode 8.0.x Failed

You may have uninstalled a previous version of Quick Fields Barcode and there is no Laserfiche Quick Fields Barcode 8.0.x item in the Windows Programs and Features option.

Cause

There is a legacy Quick Fields Barcode subkey under either the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall key or the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall key.

Workaround

Use the Windows Registry Editor and browse to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall key (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall key on a 64-bit versions of Window). Do a search for "Barcode" and see if there is a GUID subkey for a previous version of Barcode and manually delete that subkey.
