Summary

The WebLink 8 folder browser and search results listing may not display the expected icon for Microsoft Office 2007 documents that have the Office XML format file extension. For example, the search results display may show .docx documents with the default unknown electronic file format icon.

Cause

To display the corresponding icon for a known electronic document file type, WebLink references a collection of images in the "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\WebLink 8\Web Files\Images\edocs" folder. The icon images in this folder are named according to the file extensions they represent. The folder does not contain icon images corresponding to Microsoft Office documents with the Office XML format file name extensions (e.g., .docx, .xlsx, ,.pptx, etc.).

Workaround

As a workaround, browse to this folder and create copies of the existing .gif images for Microsoft Office documents (doc.gif, xls.gif, ppt.gif). Rename the new copies: docx.gif, xlsx.gif, and pptx.gif.
