Summary

In certain situations, the Web Access 8 Document Viewer may not display a page image. Closing the Document Viewer may display the following error message:

The type initializer for '<Module>' threw an exception.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in Web Access 8.3.2.

Workaround

Certain security configurations may cause this issue to occur on IIS 7.5 (Windows 7, Windows Server 208 R2) when Anonymous Authentication is disabled for your Web Access 8 virtual directory.

If you are using Web Access 8.2 or later, you can enable both Anonymous Authentication and Windows Authentication for your Web Access virtual directory.

To enable Anonymous Authentication

1. Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
2. Expand Default Web Site and select Laserfiche8.
3. In the center pane, double-click Authentication.
4. Select Anonymous Authentication and click Enable in the right-pane.
