This article documents the list of changes for Workflow 8.3.1
See the following list of new features in Workflow 8.3.1
- Workflow 8.3.1 has five new activities:
- Add Text Box: Adds a text box to a page of a Laserfiche document.
- Append List Field Choice: Edits a Laserfiche list field by adding one or more values to the list.
- Apply Stamp: Adds a public stamp to a page of a Laserfiche document.
- Create List Item: Creates a new list item on a SharePoint® site.
- Delete List Item: Deletes a list item from a SharePoint® site that was added by a previous activity in the same workflow definition.
- The Repeat activity now has an option to specify when the activity's condition will be checked (before or after the contained items run), an option to have the Iteration token begin counting at zero or at one, and an option to specify a maximum number of iterations. (84674)
- The Invoke Workflow activity has an option in the Workflow Designer to refresh the starting entry when the invoked workflow runs and an option to validate that that the invoked workflow exists when the parent workflow is published. (84754, 84799)
- The Delete Entry activity now has an option to purge (permanently delete) deleted entries. (65322)
- The Add Sticky Note activity has an option to set the protection level for the sticky note to public, protected, or private. (The new Apply Stamp and Add Text Box activities also have this option.)
- The Workflow Administration Console has a new node to add, edit, and delete web services and new advanced server options for activity performance.
- You can now browse directly to documents (instead of just folders) with the Find Entry and Find Entries activities and when defining script parameters.
- The Search Repository activity has an option to test your search query from the Workflow Designer.
- The Error Logs Viewer now allows you to search for and filter error messages.
- The Subscriber Trace Log now displays the number and size of message queue messages.
See the following list of fixes in Workflow 8.3.1
- Workflow 8.3.1 includes all hotfixes previously released for Workflow 8.3: KB1012873
-
If you installed your Workflow Server and Subscriber on different computers, additional Microsoft Message Queuing configuration is no longer required. (78523)
- The Migrate Entry activity now respects tokens when looking volumes by name. (85017)
- The Route Entry to Folder, Route Entry to User, and Route Entry to Group activities now appends multivalue field values instead of replacing them when configured to "Append to existing values" in the Fields tab. Note: You must open and republish your workflows in Workflow 8.3.1 for this fix to be applied. (85646)
- After migrating the e-mail server configuration from Workflow 8.0 to 8.3, it is now set as the default. (84937)
- The Destination Repository property of the Replicate Entries activity now behaves just like the Source Repository property: It is initialized with the default connection profile (if the selected profile is deleted) and automatically selects another profile when the selected profile is deleted. (84849)
- Workflow Server configuration wizard now correctly applies the "Support for Legacy Clients" option. (84778)
-
If you are running an Oracle database, you still cannot create the WFADOUSER$ in the ADO.NET node. However, if you try to create the user in this node, Workflow will now give you an error message. You must create the user outside of Workflow. (80929)
- If you use a token to rename an entry with the Rename Entry activity and if that token has no value when the activity runs, the Rename Entry activity now reports an error. (82160)
- If you add a custom trustee property in the Workflow Administration Console and assign it a value in the Workflow Designer, the token for the property is now available without refreshing the trustees. (74690)
- Specifying a page range that extends beyond the number of pages in the document will now only print the document pages that exist within that range. If the page range starts after the last page of the document, a single blank page will be printed. (82020)
- The Table feature of the Retrieve PDF Form Content activity stores a series of fields as a multi-value token. Now the values are displayed correctly in the multi-value token, even if one of the fields is a multi-value field (such as a list box that allows multiple items to be selected). (81917)
- If you copy and paste multiple starting rules from one workflow into another workflow now all starting rules will retain their conditions instead of only the first starting rule. (82215)
- Worflow's Installation no longer silently fails and rolls back if you try to create a firewall exception when the firewall service is disabled. (82407)
