Summary

If you have a Fujitsu scanner connected to a Windows XP computer, you must still run the Windows XP Add Hardware Wizard and manually install the scanner after you finish installing ScanConnect 8.

Note: This issue was confirmed with a Fujitsu fi-4120C, but may affect other Fujitsu scanners as well.

More Information

After installing ScanConnect 8, the Add Hardware Wizard should be able to automatically detect the installed Fujitsu drivers and complete the scanner installation process.

If the Windows XP Add Hardware Wizard is unable to automatically detect the installed drivers and prompts you to insert a Fujitsu CD, do the following:

• Instead of selecting the CD drive, click the Browse button and browse to "C:\Windows."

The wizard should now automatically detect the installed drivers and complete the scanner installation process.
