Using the RepositoryUUIDUpdater.exe Utility To Modify A Repository's UUID.

Laserfiche 8.2, Laserfiche 8.3, Laserfiche 9

Summary

Note: This utility does not currently support Laserfiche Server 10 repositories.

Each Laserfiche repository is assigned a universally unique identifier (UUID). Laserfiche embeds the UUID within various internal data. This means that you cannot simply create a copy of the SQL database associated with one repository and register a second repository using that copy of the database.

The RepositoryUUIDUpdater.exe utility allows you to modify a Laserfiche 8.2 or later repository's UUID.

Important: Make a valid backup of the database you wish to modify before running this utility.

Warning: This utility cannot revert any changes made if the process is interrupted for any reason. Make sure the database is not being used during the update. If the update fails, the only supported recovery path is to restore a backup of the database. Use at your own risk.
