Quick Fields Agent 8 Does Not Automatically Detect Changes To The Maximum Number Of Available CPUs On A Computer.

Quick Fields 8

Summary

The Quick Fields Agent 8 installation process includes an initial assessment of the maximum number of available CPUs on the computer in order to limit the maximum number of sessions that can be run simultaneously on the computer. If you allocate additional CPUs to the machine at a later time, Quick Fields Agent cannot automatically detect this change and the Quick Fields Agent Administration Console will not allow you to set a higher value in the Parallel Processing section of the Settings dialog box.

Workaround

Manually modify the MaxAgents element in the Quick Fields Agent Settings.xml configuration file to increase the maximum number of allowed simultaneous sessions.

By default, the Quick Fields Agent Settings.xml file is located at:

  • Windows XP/Windows Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Laserfiche\Quick Fields Agent
  • Windows Vista/Windows Server 2008/Windows 7: C:\ProgramData\Laserfiche\Quick Fields Agent

Modify the number in the <MaxAgents> element to the desired maximum number of allowed simultaneous sessions and save your change.

In the Quick Fields Agent Administration Console, open the Settings dialog box, click on the Processing tab and modify the value in the Parallel Processing section.
