This article details Service Pack 1 (hotfix 1012894) for Laserfiche 8.3.0. The fix includes .msp files that update various components of the Laserfiche 8.3.0 product suite.
Laserfiche Server
The Laserfiche Server update includes the following changes:
- When deleting a large number of documents, the Laserfiche Server could encounter SQL transaction deadlocks. This issue is now resolved for new repositories created after applying this update. (82390)
- Oracle repositories no longer receive a "ORA-02443: Cannot drop constraint - nonexistent constraint" error after upgrading to Laserfiche 8.3. (82793 )
- Attempting to attach certain Laserfiche 7 volumes could display an "Operation or command invalid for the requested type of object [9000]" error message. This issue is now resolved. (82554)
- Laserfiche no longer prevents you from saving changes to electronic documents that are stored in an attached legacy-format volume when the Overwrite files before deletion repository option is enabled. (82721)
- Migrating a document to a different volume now only requires the Read entry access right. Choosing the "Migrate Entries" option on a folder also requires the Write Metadata entry access right on the folder. (83287)
- Laserfiche now displays the correct total number of electronic files when viewing the properties of a folder. (83642)
- You can now export "tunneled" entries as a briefcase file. (75877)
- You should no longer receive a "The user account or password is incorrect" error message after you create a new LFFTS search catalog and restart the Laserfiche Server without restarting the Laserfiche Search Engine service. (82467)
- A potential server instability issue is now resolved. (83835)
- Laserfiche now properly imports briefcase files that contain list fields when the import process must merge list fields and append items. (82469)
- When importing a briefcase into a folder where Automatically place new documents under version control is enabled, if the import process must rename a new document to avoid a name collision, the newly imported document is marked as being "checked out." This issue is now resolved. (82724)
- The Laserfiche Server could become unstable in certain situations involving client applications logging in and out repeatedly with a notification manager connection. This issue is now resolved. (82507)

- Laserfiche now correctly inserts field values for mapped e-mail properties for all e-mail messages in the batch when you choose the apply to all items option when importing multiple e-mail messages at one time. (82851)
- The Folder Browser now loads faster when the Signature count column is not displayed. (82485)
- You no longer receive an "Encountered an improper argument" error message when copying a folder that you open from a set of search results. (83469)
- You can now use tokens in required fields when assigning a template to multiple documents. (82588)
- Laserfiche now correctly stores values in a multiple-value field when you modify the field value on multiple documents at one time and the documents have different values in multiple-value field. (82989)
- The About Laserfiche dialog box now displays your serial number. (83008)
- You can now properly combine the "within" and "not in" options in the Within Folder search type. (83478)
- The folder tree listing now supports the back and forward buttons on a mouse. (83593)
- You now receive a message prompt when you open a Microsoft Office document that is currently open on another workstation. (82658)
- You can now export Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 and 2010 files as a PDF file. (79879)
- Laserfiche no longer displays "Invalid domain account" or "Invalid pointer" messages when viewing the effective rights or privileges on users in a separate domain. (82995)
- Certain images could cause a "The selected page does not have an image. [2106:0x8004083a]" during import. This issue is now resolved. (82945)
- Exporting certain images as a JPEG file could cause Laserfiche to become unstable. This issue is now resolved. (83391)
- Laserfiche now falls back to a user's temp directory if the configured cache directory for Document Processor is unavailable. (82605)
- You can now correctly log in with an LDAP user account. (83294)
- Exported PDF files now have properly scaled text to match the image. Previously, this mismatch would cause search highlights within the PDF to display in incorrect areas. (82710)

The updated download packages contain an "updates" subfolder with the .msp patch files. When using the updated installation to install Laserfiche 8.3.0 for the first time, the installation process will automatically detect and install the appropriate .msp files located in that subfolder.
