SharePoint Integration for SharePoint 2010

Installation Prerequisites

Before installing the Laserfiche SharePoint Integration, make sure that the following components are installed.

  • SharePoint Server 2010 or SharePoint Foundation 2010 (SharePoint Services 4.0)
  • Note: The Laserfiche Search Integration requires SharePoint Server 2010. SharePoint Foundation 2010 does not include the necessary features required for the Search Integration.

  • Web Access 8.2 or later (can be installed on a different computer from SharePoint)
  • Laserfiche Server 8.2 or later (can be installed on a different computer from SharePoint)

You should also make sure that the following Windows Server 2008 roles and features are installed:

  • The Web Server (IIS) role with the ASP.NET role service
  • The .NET Framework 3.5 feature

Verify that the SQL Server instance for SharePoint is running. By default, the SQL instance for SharePoint 2010 is named SHAREPOINT.

Upgrading from Laserfiche SharePoint Integration 8.1

If you have SharePoint 2007 and Laserfiche SharePoint Integration 8.1 installed on the same computer and want to upgrade in place, please see the following notes:

  1. Please see the available Microsoft documentation for steps on upgrading SharePint 2007 to SharePoint 2010.

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc303420.aspx

  2. After upgrading to SharePoint 2010, verify that you can successfully view your SharePoint site.
  3. View the web.config file for your SharePoint site. Under the <system.web.extensions>\<scripting>\<webServices> section, there may be a duplicate <jsonSerialization> node. Remove the duplicate node.
  4. Run the Laserfiche SharePoint Integration 8.2 installation.
  5. Use the Laserfiche Web Part Management Utility to deploy the Laserfiche Web Parts.
  6. In certain cases, you may need to manually remove the following duplicate lines in the web.config file for your SharePoint site:
    • Under the <system.web> section, remove the duplicate <sessionState mode="SQLServer" > line. It should look similar to the following: <sessionState mode="SQLServer" timeout="60" allowCustomSqlDatabase="true" sqlConnectionString="Data Source=yourSQLServer\SharePoint;Initial Catalog=SessionStateService_254d570e5ddb4dc3853fe11bb547cad5;Integrated Security=True;Enlist=False;Connect Timeout=15" />
    • Under the <system.webServer> section, under <modules>, remove the duplicate <add name="Session" type="System.Web.SessionState.SessionStateModule" /> line.

known Issues

Repository Access Web Part and Search Web Part

  • 1012850 Uninstalling the Laserfiche SharePoint Integration 8.2. (78962)
  • A SharePoint page with the Laserfiche Search Web Part may take longer than expected to fully load if the Laserfiche repository contains a large number of templates and fields. (79490)
  • If you are using the 64-bit version of Internet Explorer 9, you will not be able to launch Scanning from the Repository Access Web Part. (78602)
  • If you have Saved Searches, the Reset button resets the Search Part to the first saved search, instead of clearing all search types. (79488)
  • The Within Folder search does not provide a way to browse your Laserfiche repository, you must manually specify the folder path you want to search. (79609)
  • Launching Web Scanning from the Repository Access Web Part always prompts you for authentication. (78585)
  • Closing a SharePoint Web page with a Laserfiche SharePoint Web Part does not automatically end the session with the Laserfiche Server. In a Laserfiche named user licensing environment, closing and reopening pages with the Laserfiche Web Parts multiple times within a short time frame may hit the connection limit for that named user. Please configure the Idle disconnect setting for your Laserfiche repository. (78894, 68551)
  • Changes to the search results columns display in the Laserfiche Search Part take effect after the next search. (75763)

Search Integration

  • If your repository contains a folder that has two electronic documents with the same name, but one has the file extension in the entry name, the SharePoint search crawler will skip one of the documents. (79170)
  • SharePoint Search may display a generic error page if a search returns too many results. The default timeout is 2 minutes. (73441)

Records Center

  • In the Manage Configurations tab, if you set the Document Type option for a configuration to Image, the integration will attempt to convert all file types to a laserfiche imaged document. (79458)
  • In Web Access, in the Settings dialog box, under New Documents -> Outlook, you must set the default attachment behavior to File separately and have the Apply e-mail fields to attachments option set in order to file attachments separately; however, the integration will not successfully apply the same fields to the attachment document. (79078, 78536)
  • The Manage Configurations page does not allow you to include a SharePoint field or Laserfiche field multiple times in the Mappings section. The configuration site will silently remove any such mappings. (52125)
  • The Volume option for a newly created configuration file may be blank if the DEFAULT volume does not exist in the repository. (73786)
