Summary
When you enable the "Mark Files as Permanent" option for a volume, Laserfiche sets the "Read-only" file system attribute for all volume files. When you detach or export a permanent volume, Laserfiche will not clear this file system attribute. Similarly, when reattaching the volume, Laserfiche will not modify this file system attribute.
When such a volume is reattached to a Laserfiche repository and you do not select the "Mark Files as Permanent" option, Laserfiche treats the imported documents as standard documents that may then be deleted or sent to the Laserfiche Recycle Bin. The delete and purge Recycle Bin actions will function as expected in Laserfiche, but the Laserfiche Server will be unable to physically remove the volume files from the Windows file system. Laserfiche will log messages in the Windows Event Log similar to the following:
Error deleting a document page part volume data file. Volume ID: 1 Store ID: 00000001 Path: D:\SampleVolume\00\00\00\00000001.TIF Error 5: %%5
Workaround
Manually clear the "Read-only" attribute from the affected volume files.
