Summary

This article documents hotfix 1012801 for Web Access 8.2.0. The update includes the following changes:

  • When viewing the Detailed Version Information dialog box, the Creation Date and Modified Date would display "AD" instead of the actual values. This issue is now resolved. (73221)
  • When using Firefox 4, Chrome, or Safari, you would be unable to specify a field value longer than the default value for character type fields even if the field definition allowed a longer value. This issue is now resolved. (73157)
  • Web Access would display a "Some invalid field data was detected" error message if you attempt to save the value 0 in a required number type field. This issue is now resolved. (71985)
  • When using Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, or Internet Explorer 8, the drop-down list for list fields may not expand to fully display long field values. After installing this hotfix, you have the option of enabling a workaround that can dynamically alter the display width of list fields in Internet Explorer. (73280)

More Information

To update Web Access 8.2.0

  1. Click one of the following links to download either the 32-bit or the 64-bot version of hotfix 1012801 for Web Access 8.2.0.

    2. KB1012801_win32.zip

    KB1012801_x64.zip

  2. Extract the contents of the zip file to a temporary location.
  3. Double-click the extracted .msp file to load the Web Access 8.2 update wizard.
  4. Select "Repair" when prompted for an operation.
  5. Restart the Web Access Server machine if prompted.
  6. If you want to enable the workaround for the list field display issue mentioned in the above list of changes, do the following:
    1. Using a text editor, open the index.aspx file located in the Web Files subfolder of your Web Access installation folder.
    2. Scroll to the end of the file and above the final </script> tag, add the following line:

      3. waWindow.ApplyIESelectLengthWorkaround = true;

    3. Save your change to index.aspx.
