This article highlights changes for Laserfiche 8.2.1.

Laserfiche Server

• There is now an index on the DOC table to speed up recycle bin browsing for the full versions of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008. This feature is not available for repositories using SQL Server 2000 or any Express edition due to limitations with those versions. (69072)
• Refreshing the search result listing in the Laserfiche Client could cause the Laserfiche server to become unstable. This issue is now resolved. (70475, 70036).
• Laserfiche is now uses a more efficient method of calculating a user's access rights during a full-text search. This optimization improves search times for full-text searches. (70214)
• A potential crash scenario no longer occurs when using Laserfiche Scanning 7 to send data to Laserfiche Server 8. (70546)
• Reindexing a large number of documents in a Oracle repository could return a "maximum number of expressions in a list is 1000" error message. This issue is now resolved. (71146)
• When importing a Laserfiche briefcase file, Laserfiche can now merge record series that share a record series code. (71184)
• Laserfiche could become unstable when you combined a full-text search with a Within Folder search. This issue is now resolved. (71482)
• The Laserfiche Server no longer becomes unstable if you do a full-text search for "lf." (71738)
• Deleting documents in large repositories should now be faster. (71811)

Laserfiche Client

• The Folder Browser Window's Preview Pane can now display a selected document's metadata, text, thumbnail, and annotation panes. (69982)
• The Client no longer automatically includes the field columns in the Search Results pane when you do a custom quick search for a field value. The quick search was using the search pane template to override the template in the quick search phrase. (69980)
• Thumbnails for certain images could appear upside down and mirrored. Laserfiche now correctly displays the thumbnail for these types of images that have a "bottom-left" view perspective. (70155)
• The Laserfiche Client now only exports the selected pages when you drag and drop pages from the Document Viewer to the Windows Desktop. (70435)>
• The Office Plug-in now supports connecting to Laserfiche Servers that are not running on the default port. (70880)
• The Save to Laserfiche option for Microsoft Outlook can now use the value of the Default Document Name option in the Laserfiche Client. (70943)
• The Save to Laserfiche option for Microsoft Office no longer lists a repository twice when the Scan Network for Repositories option is enabled. (71122)
• CTRL + S now functions as expected when editing a Microsoft Excel 2007 or Excel 2010 document. (71593)
• The Laserfiche Client could potentially hang after closing Laserfiche Scanning. This issue is now resolved. (71645)
• The Laserfiche Client no longer generates an internal set of thumbnails for the Folder Browser when not in Thumbnails mode. This should result in faster Folder Browser load times. (71646)
• Laserfiche now includes highlighted search hits on all pages of a document when printing. (71779)
• The Laserfiche Client no longer becomes unstable when loading a saved search that contains an independent field that no longer exists. (71845)
• Laserfiche could create larger than expected image files when importing image files from a .LST import list file. This issue is now resolved. (71926, 72734)
• In certain situations, the Metadata Pane may appear blank when you first open the Document Viewer. This issue is now resolved. (72086)
• When using the Send to Laserfiche option from Microsoft Outlook, the Laserfiche Repository Selection dialog box now defaults to selecting the last saved repository. If no repository is saved, the dialog box selects the first repository in the list. (72175)
• The Laserfiche Client no longer potentially returns an "unknown error. [6000]" message during the import process when the Always show Metadata option is not selected. (72245)
• You can again use copy and paste functionality to export documents from the Laserfiche Client to Windows Explorer. (72360)
• Opening multiple Microsoft Office documents from the Laserfiche Client and then closing the Client while the Office documents are still open could prevent the Laserfiche Client from closing properly. This issue is now resolved. (72494)
• The Office Integration plug-in could incorrectly save field metadata when viewing and editing checked out documents. This issue is now resolved. (72550, 72430)

Snapshot

• In the File Formats tab of the Lf Snapshot 8 Properties dialog box, the File format drop-down list now contains a vertical scroll-bar. (70753)
