This article details hotfix 1012746 for Laserfiche 8.2.0. The fix includes patch files with updates to Laserfiche Server, the Laserfiche Search Engine, Laserfiche Client, Laserfiche Scanning, and the Laserfiche Administration Console.

Laserfiche Server Changes

The Laserfiche Server patch includes the following changes:

  • Laserfiche now properly escapes certain wildcard characters for searches on Oracle 9. (67880)
  • The Laserfiche Server now automatically creates a TEMP subfolder when needed in a volume. Client applications attempting to update text, OCR, or edit electronic documents no longer error out with variations of error 9003 such as "Failed writing data to repository" or "The requested portion of the document does not exist" or "Cannot find this rendition."   • Laserfiche now contains better internal error handling for certain situations and now correctly exports volumes in legacy formats (version 6 or 7) when those situations occur. (65638, 65359)
  • Laserfiche searches now function correctly for those situations that would log a "Connection is busy" SQL error to the Windows Event Log. (69062)

  • The Laserfiche 8.2 Full-Text Search Catalog Upgrade Wizard (CatalogUpgrade8.exe) now creates log files at "C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Temp\Laserfiche\SearchCatalogUpgradeyyyymmddhhmmss.txt" on Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 computers and at "C:\users\UserName\AppData\Local\Temp\Laserfiche\SearchCatalogUpgradeyyyymmddhhmmss.txt" on Windows Vista or later computers. More Information

Note: The patch files in this Knowledge Base article are included as part of the Laserfiche 8.2 installations released on February 7, 2011 or later with a setup.exe of version 8.2.0.622 or higher. Each installation contains a "patches" subfolder with the .msp patch files. When using the updated installation, the installation process will automatically detect and install the appropriate patch files located in that subfolder. If you have not yet performed the upgrade, please download the most recent version of the Laserfiche 8.2 installation.

To update Laserfiche Server 8.2.0

  1. Stop the Laserfiche Server service.
  2. Click one of the following links to download either the 32-bit or the 64-bit version of Laserfiche Server hotfix 1012746.

  3. Extract the contents of the zip file to a temporary location and double-click the .msp file to update the Laserfiche Server.
  4. Restart the Laserfiche Server service.

  1. Stop the Laserfiche Full-Text Indexing and Search Service.
  2. Click one of the following links to download either the 32-bit or the 64-bit version of hotfix 1012746 for LFFTS.
